I got rid of all the rest except for the Cyclobenaprine Percocets for pain as needed and stomach meds. I feel much better without all that other stuff. Thx for your article and I agree not enough was emphasized about side effects. They are many and vast.

I am on a cocktail of medications which includes Methotrexate which is toxic for the kidneys and Prednisone. The use of Prednisone along with my immunosuppressant drug left me open to a very dangerous life threatening disease.,Mucormycosis an invasive fungal infection. I am on Amphotericin b which is also a very toxic drug, along with Methotrexate the load on my kidneys is know causing renal hypertension. So not only am I very ill with a known infection from adding Prednisone to my immunosuppressant no one told me of the possibility of contracting this life threatening disease because of the drugs I am on. It is very important to do your own research on what you are leaving yourself open to when you are put on a cocktail of drugs by your medical team. In addition, I was not correctly diagnosed for several months as my symptoms initially looked like an autoimmune relapse. So I thought I was being treated for my autoimmune conditions including lupus with no idea I was vulnerable to this fungus infection which could kill me instead. On reading your article on Lupus medications, I do not feel there was enough emphasis on the side effects or how vulnerable these medication leave you to other life threatening diseases especially fungal diseases.

For instance, what might cause a doctor to prescribe Benlysta versus Biologics?
